CEO/Executive Director Latarsha Burke graduated from Trenton State College in 1995 with a degree in English Liberal Arts and a minor in Criminal Justice. In 2017 she graduated as a Fellow from the first Princeton Theological Urban Cohorts program. She has been honored by state, city and local organizations.
She is founder of the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County. The organization’s mission is to “To Educate, Empower, and Unite Africans in the diaspora through cultural arts, health and wellness, entertainment, and sports”.

In her 28 year career, Mrs. Burke has dedicated her life to ensuring the safety and stability of youth and families in New Jersey since 1995. This work led her to volunteering in 2011 as a Logistics Coordinator for the Trenton African American Pride Festival. In 2013, upon the resignation of the festival’s founder LA Parker, Mrs. Burke was voted to become the next Executive Director. In 2014, Mrs. Burke became CEO of the Trenton African American Cultural Festival. After much deliberation and support by the team and numerous community partners, Mrs. Burke decided to change the name to the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County and change the organization's status to a not for profit.
On June 19, 2017 (YES Juneteenth) the African American Cultural Collaborative status changed to not for profit with programming offered to the Trenton and Mercer County Community. In a few years the organization has increased its events from 1 month out of the year to 10 months. The progress is due to the time and commitment of a dedicated Executive Board, Advisors, partnership
