S5E15 | Isaiah Hughes and Amonte Simmons - The Doctors Are In
Isaiah Hughes is a first-year medical student at Cooper Medical School of
Rowan University in Camden, NJ. Isaiah was born in Trenton, NJ and raised in Willingboro, NJ, so he is very familiar with the struggles of marginalized communities. Isaiah completed his undergraduate studies at Rowan University while majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish. In the future, he is committed to serving underrepresented communities congruent to the ones he grew up in. As a future physician, Isaiah plans to pursue orthopedic surgery or PM&R and practice medicine in underrepresented communities.
Amonte Simmons is a first year student at Cooper Medical School of Rowan university. Amonte was raised in Paterson, NJ and his mission as a future physician is to bridge the gap between the health disparities that exits among black communities as well as serve as a leader and role model to the youth. In addition, Amonte is dedicated to increasing the representation of black physicians within the field of medicine in an effort to improve the health outcomes of underrepresented populations
